Welcome to the Ardor region. An original, literate Pokemon roleplay.

Ardor has been mostly quiet over the past few years. Too quiet. Times are relatively peaceful and the newest generation of Pokemon trainers barely remember the chaos of the former criminal syndicate of this region. Many would believe that they have nothing to worry about.

They're only hiding. Avoiding detection, a new threat to Ardor's peace as begun to emerge. Nobody knows who they are, not even the Rangers. All anyone knows is that they go by the name of Orcus. Their attacks are few, but ruthless. Expertly planned, their recent antics have caused havoc in Osmose and Renovo, stealing copious amounts of high-tech equipment, with fast vehicles to get the stolen items out. So far, four people have been administered to hospital, and one has been killed. The gaps between these crimes allow just enough time for security to lull - these thugs know exactly what they're doing.

Rangers are working tirelessly to find their members, although there are very few leads to go on. Their true intent is, like their identities, unknown, and Ardor's security forces are just waiting for the next attack to occur.

The question is, what will the trainers of Ardor do? With the Rangers forming an elite-only force of good and no other leaders to turn to, will they defend their own or band together to try and stop the tyrants? Or will they decide that the future only holds more chaos, and attempt to join Orcus' ranks?

[ ]Hollowcreek Village (1 sub-board)
This sleepy little village has very few houses, so tourists don't tend to stay here. However, tucked away by a small hill lies the Lab, a point of interest for any new trainers out there. Head in to find your first Pokemon!

[ ]Route One
Upon leaving Hollowcreek, travellers are met with a gently sloping, grassy area. This route is actually part of a conservation project run with the Professors, making this is the perfect place for trainers to gather a couple of new members to their teams!

[ ]Route Two
The path splits into two directions - East and West. Heading West will take you to Osmose, while heading East will take you to Fleurvale. It's advised that new trainers head East first for the gym in the next city.

in Seperate Ways
[ ]Fleurvale (2 sub-boards)
A very airy town, Fleurvale is home to the Contest Registration Bureau. The residents here own much of the land themselves, often opening the area to farming. The locals are friendly and tend to be warm to strangers, as they're used to new trainers passing through. The first gym of the region can also be found here!

[ ]Route Three
This hilly area is almost completely covered in flowers of all sizes and colours. A few dirt paths line the hills, but the extensive grass makes it a perfect place to catch new Pokemon.

Western Ardor
[ ]Route Four
The land here gets a little rocky - a slight cliffside of around 12ft sits against the ocean, before it slopes down to form the bay futher ahead. Fishermen often gather here, as it's a prime spot to try for that 'big catch'.
00
[ ]Honour Bay (1 sub-board)
A peaceful bay so-named due to a battle of epic proportions that took place here seven years ago between the leader of Team Chaos and the current Ardor Champion. Now, this place is home to relaxing trainers before they head off further on their journey. The sands are a gorgeous pale yellow, and the water is a crystal-clear blue.
00
[ ]Shirona Port (1 sub-board)
This magnificent port is one of the highlights of Ardor! From here, trainers can not only catch a ferry to Osmose City to continue their journey through the region, but also to the PokePark and Event Island. You'll need the badge from this city's gym to board the ferry, though!

in With Everybody Screaming.
[ ]S.S. Acre
This ferry is the main method of getting from Shirona Port to Osmose City. It makes regular trips between both harbours throughout the day. Some trainers like to remain on the boat, battling challengers as they travel. If you show the shipmaster some kind of special ticket, you can gain access to the smaller islands around Ardor.
00
Northern Ardor
[ ]Osmose City (1 sub-board)
Although this city is close to the volcano, it is very water-orientated, mostly because half of it is below sea level! An underwater tunnel leads to the sunken part of the city, where Fortuna Stadium can be found. Since this area was originally formed by a volcanic eruption, the climate here is very tropical - surfing contests are often held here!

[ ]Route Five
Also known as the "Sunken Marshes", so-called because the land here dips below sea-level. This causes the land to be perpetually soggy, but also feels like a physical dip in the surface. Trainers are advised to take caution whilst traversing this area, as a tribe of Victreebel take pride in dragging unsuspecting travellers into the murky waters.
00
[ ]Naran Cave (1 sub-board)
An extensive cave formed by the eruption 250 years ago. There are multiple routes through as well as some dead-ends, and links Osmose City to the nearby volcano. The cave is outlined in a thick band of trees.
00
[ ]Moviki City (1 sub-board)
Moviki City is a tranquil place, built on a dormant volcano. The people here are friendly and love nothing more than enjoying life, so some kind of celebration is usually going on here. The community is closely-knit as well, so new trainers are quickly spotted by the locals. A little further up the volcano, you will find Moviki Gym, recently handed over to Viracocha.
11on May 12, 2011, 1:52pm
by Rapture
in Gym Leader Viracocha! }}
[ ]Route Six
This route can be quite tretcherous, as it takes trainers from Moviki down the other side of the volcano. The slopes can be steep, so be wary of warring Pokemon who may cause a fall. The landscape slowly becomes more desolate here, as the rocks open out towards the desert.
00
Central Ardor
[ ]North Desert (1 sub-board)
The northern section of the desert is considerably denser than the southern. The dunes are much higher and the sand much coarser, making it difficult to travel through. Most do not attempt it.
00
[ ]West Desert
This section of the desert is probably the hottest area, with temperatures reaching phenomenal highs. Rumours are that various ruins litter the dunes here, buried beneath years of sand. Archaeological groups traverse this area often.
00
[ ]Abilon (1 sub-board)
Abilon is the hub of Ardor, holding both the majestic castle in which the region's royalty resides; and the Ranger HQ, making it the safest city in Ardor behind it's vast walls and surrounding mountains.
00
[ ]East Desert
There are less dunes on the Eastern side of Abilon, making travel a little more possible. Many large boulders and rocks litter the landscape, having tumbled down from the nearby mountainous area. This, coupled with the lower temperatures in this section, make it a challenging yet often travelled battling ground.
00
[ ]South Desert
The southern section of Ardor's desert region is the least traversed by comparison. The sands are quick thick here, meaning that unsuspecting trainers who do attempt to cross are likely to end up being rescued my Abilon's rangers.
00
Eastern Ardor
[ ]Route Seven
The landscape remains mostly dry here, the sand filtering out and being slowly replaced by larger boulders and a few dryland trees. After this area, travellers must decide whether to venture through Brightwood or Wychwood.
00
[ ]Brightwood
A light, cheery woodland, consisting of many conifers and evergreens. This place often shifts colour with the seasons. Many forest-dwelling Pokemon can be found here.

You need only travel through either Brightwood or Wychwood, not both!
00
[ ]Wychwood (1 sub-board)
These woods are considerably more dangerous than their counterparts. Twisted, dying trees and eerie fog surrounds this place, but word is that higher-levelled or rare Pokemon lurk in the shadows.
Beware of the ghosts!

You need only travel through either Brightwood or Wychwood, not both!.

[ ]Springbell Lake (1 sub-board)
The glistening waters of this lake run all the way down from the mountainous region to the north. The lake is extensive, allowing for a great number of Pokemon to live either within or around its waters, and sits within the main forest. Nearby sits Celebi's Shrine.
00
[ ]Mt. Motru Entrance
At the base of the mountainous region to the East of Ardor likes the Mt. Motru entrance. This is the only way to get into Mt. Motru from the ground, and is the very first step along the treacherous road towards the Champion.
00
Mount Motru
[ ]Mt Motru; First Floor
The caverns here begin to get a little colder compared to the air outside. However, there seems to be plenty of light streaming in through gaps in the rock, so navigating this section is not so difficult.
00
[ ]Mt Motru; Second Floor
The second floor of the mountain is much more complex to navigate. Trainers should be wary of weak floor sections or holes, as falling back down to the first floor could be catastrophic. The caverns are extensive here, and whilst the open spaces are not too dangerous, the many tunnels can hold some nasty surprises.
00
[ ]Outside Mt Motru; Third Floor (1 sub-board)
The third floor of the mountain is mainly consistent of outside paths, as some tunnels from the second floor open up here. Being so high up, this area is notorious for rock slides, so caution is key. Ardor's final gym is located here!

by Rapture
in Gym Leader Rubeus! }}
[ ]Mt. Motru; Fourth Floor (1 sub-board)
Having conquered the steps up to the next floor, the fourth floor continues to climb the outer levels of the mountain. There are various sidepaths and alternate routes through this section of the mountain, allowing trainers to avoid the thinning air and remain inside should they wish. On occasion, the outer paths may be blocked by rock slides or even large groups of Pokemon.
00
[ ]Mt. Motru; Fifth Floor
The last section of Mt. Motru is relatively calm compared to the other floors. Whilst the Pokemon here are rather aggressive, the varying paths are more stable and many of the tunnels connect with each other, allowing the route out to be found fairly easily from any direction. It is quite dark, however, and trainers would be wise to carry some kind of light source with them.
00
[ ]Final Trail (1 sub-board)
The last stretch of this mountain opens back out to the elements for the final time. In the distance, travellers can see a large building shadowed by thin clouds situated on another section of the mountain. A rope bridge connects the two sections. Good luck crossing!
00
Event Island
[ ]The Gateway
During any event taking place on this island, trainers will be ferried to the gateway from Osmose Harbour. Here, they will be asked to show their entry tickets. This island is not open to the public unless an official event is taking place.
